Got three Dagger Blasts but by 12 years of age most kids are at their limit
in the Blast ( though at 14st I can still paddle one. Better go for a flat
bottomed boat if you want initial stability. However, the Blast is great for
small kids who can easily paddle them in a straight-ish line :-)

We use Whippits and Whiplashes for 10 years upwards. We put one scared
beginner in a Wavesport Z and when she realised she could stand up in it her
fears vanished. Perhaps more critical than the boat size is the paddle size.
