Hello,
I am looking for advise on were to do a days kayaking, (laid back, = nothing to strenuous, less than 10 miles) on the severn, I am a BCU member and am planning to paddle on the 2nd of august. the = trip is for 5 reasonably competent paddlers (all at least 2 star) we are = looking for some fast moving water but nothing above grade 3, we are = travelling from Central Wales. can you give my any information on get ins and get outs? hazards? were can I get a good map of the river? Access/Licensing - do i need one? whats the water level like at the moment? Many thanks Ben Mason |

ok, i have decided to paddle from ironbridge through to bridgeworth, has

I would get in at the rowing club below the Prince Albert Bridge. Unless the river is very high, the only significant hazard is the rapid at Jackfield. The degree of difficulty depends on the river level and your ability. You can get out on the left hand river bank above the rapid, inspect the rapid and make your own judgement. It is quite a pleasant paddle to Bridgnorth. I would get out on the left bank immediately below the bridge. There is a difficult climb up to a footpath and a car-park. There may be easier places.
