Radios for Sea Kayaking

I'm north to Tokyo next month for a vacation. Was looking to pick up
some sort of 2m or QRP rig for amateur radio communications, but I
started wondering if maybe people on this news groups had additional
ideas for rigs (handhelds I assume) for sea kayakers? Are there some
handhelds that also cover the marine frequencies as well? (For
reference I live in Singapore, so I'm near Malaysia and Indonesia as
well).Any other thoughts or selection advice?

Regards

Hi Strong Mocha ;
Here is an artical in Seakayaker April of 2004.
I do not own one so I can't vouch for it good or bad.
