CIMI Tall Ship Expeditions - Position Announcement: CTSE Director

CTSE has created a new position to oversee and manage the operation of
the CIMI Tall Ship Expeditions program aboard SSV TOLE MOUR. CTSE is
an educational program combining tall ship sailing and marine science,
and serves students from 4th grade through high school with 3 to 5 day
programs around Santa Catalina Island and the Channel Islands. The
TOLE MOUR is an extension of the Catalina Island Marine Institute
(CIMI), which operates at three coves on Catalina Island. CTSE and
CIMI are part of Guided Discoveries, a California not-for-profit
educational organization.

SSV TOLE MOUR is a 156' (LOA) steel hull, three masted square topsail
schooner, built in 1984. She is a sailing school vessel with an
overnight capacity of 49 people (14 crew and 35 students).

The CTSE Director will manage the entire CTSE program, including
recruitment and hiring staff and crew, developing and managing the
budget, program development, USCG coordination, managing the ship's
maintenance and haul-outs and providing leadership and vision for the
continued success of the program.

The position requires prior tall ship operation and management
experience. Applicants should have a college degree, experience with
budgeting, staffing, ships operations and maintenance, and enjoy
working with children. A USCG 500 ton, sail-endorsed captain's
license is preferred.
