Sarah Spencer/Jane Ann IV
1 Attachment(s)
This is not one of the prettier boats plying the Great Lakes. The Sarah
Spencer was originally the Adam E. Cornelius when launched in 1959. Since then it was converted to a 611 ft barge in 1996 and renamed the Edward V Smith and later Sea Barge. The name was changed to Sarah Spencer when it was mated to a Brazillian Work Tug named the Jane Ann IV. The whole thing is rigged so that the Captain runs things from his position in the forward Pilot house on the Sarah Spencer. The Jane Ann IV is mated in such a way that it will pitch independently but will only roll in tandem with the Sarah Spencer.. -- ellis veech Canon 30D Elements 6 |
