Are the outriggers used to stabilize the boat? In the Netherlands our 'Boomkor-kotters' (fishing vessels with a certain type of fishing rig) use similar outriggers to tow their nets over the seabed. They always put them up when they get close to the channel, I guess they don't want to take out any smaller boats :-) Paul |
