There's no harm in patronizing an old retired guy.
 
Would one of you kind people mind wasting a bit of bandwidth and
explain why someone would post an image in 73 parts (Sunday On The
Delaware River). The numbers suggests to me that combined image would
be almost five times larger than the largest single image that has
been posted in a while (ferry masarrah taking cargo.jpg).

I'm having trouble seeing the big picture here, in several ways.

I'm using Free Agent to combine posts. As well as I have figured out
how to combine things, I'd be half a day putting that picture back
together.

This just doesn't add up. Even if I was to paste that image together,
I'd have to project it on to the side of a building to see it. ????

There is the thing that the Ferry one, as with all of mine, was posted
in large and small sizes to accommodate everyone
