This is a trap boat. A net is anchored to rocks on the shoreline and
stretched out.
There are weights at the bottom and floats on top to make a nice net wall.
The other
end of the net is laid in a spiral shape. The whole thing takes up a good
amount of
area when it is all set up. The fish come up to the net, swim along it,
trying to find
a way around, go around in the spiral and can't find there way out. This is
left out
for a few days. This guy pulls along 4 dories that they row out along the
spiral,
each at a certain spot, to tie the net together so it can be hauled up like
a big bag.
