Zooming in on the original images I took, it looks like she is drawing (draughting?) 12 feet (3.66m). Here is a picture I grabbed from their web cam a few days before they dropped her back into the water, showing the lower hull. Maybe a lot of ballast? I haven't heard anything about the Cutty Sark, maybe someone else hanging out here has some info they can pass along? A quick Google will bring you up pictures. There was a bit of controversy over the way she is displayed, raised up from the dock bottom with a cover at the waterline to represent the sea. |

I guess the design *had* to be seaworthy, she crossed the Atantic to get here in '57. I was in West Bridgewater at the time, not far inland from Plymouth, and it was a big deal in the area. Bob |
