Those are Power Pole anchors used for shallow water fishing. Push a
button and the poles extend down and stick into the bottom, holding you
where you want to be. They run about $2,000 each.

More for fishing in the backwaters and Mangroves here in the Gulf. They
probably wouldn't be any good up in New England!
