Hoverlloyd hovercraft, the Sure, landing, Ramsgate, England, 6-17-80
The Sure, and the Swift, were SR.N4, Mountbatten-class hovercraft.
Designed to carry 254 passengers and up to 30 cars, they were 131 feet long, weighed 193 tons, and could cruise at over 60 knots. I had the pleasure of riding both in June 1980. The Sure is landing at Ramsgate, England. |
