Gilles,

I, too, have a Bruce Roberts Mauritius 43. The steel hull and deck
were constructed at Kettle Creek in Ontario. I really love my boat,
thus the name s/v Truelove. Mine is a raised poop; is yours as well?
I sure would like to see pictures of your boat. Unfortunately I do
not have any of Truelove that are viewable online.

You mention a windvane. What type do you have? I understood that
with hydraulic steering you could only use the Sayes Rig.

What kind of windlass do you have, and have you been pleased with it?

An AIS receiver -- I am so jealous!!! Please tell me the brand and
model and where you bought it and what you had to pay for it. :-)

What brand and model of autopilot do you have and have you been
pleased with it?

Trailer?!? Surely you can't be serious. It must be a huge semi
trailer.

Sorry to ask so many questions. It is just rare to see another
Mauritius 43 for sale, especially one so well equipped. If you need
anyone to sing the praises of this boat design, just refer them to me.
I have been very pleased with Truelove.

The hydraulic steering is ajustable you can go from one end to the other
from two wheel turn to six turns.(in port fast acting and at sea very fine
tuning)
On the center of the wheel is a pulley and small stainless inner cable run t
hrow the deck. The wind vane pull the cable and turn the wheel. You can
remove the sail of the wind vane and install a small tiller pilot with
remote control and connected to the GPS chartplotter.

What kind of windlass do you have, and have you been pleased with it?

It is a monster with 24 volts 1hp motor with remote in the cockpit
Here it is the big
horizontal.

An AIS receiver -- I am so jealous!!! Please tell me the brand and

Have look there http://www.milltechmarine.com/
The AIS is plug to IBM ThinkPad witch is mounted flush in the chart table
(all the wire under)
and throw the USB via a multiplexer to received and send data from all NMEA
instrument.
The ThinkPad also send and received mail and météo fax from SSB and read and
write C-Map
and store road also tide and pilot chart for anywhere in the world

What brand and model of autopilot do you have and have you been
pleased with it?

The autopilot is a small tiller pillot connected to the sail of the wind
vane no need for big thrust and little
consomation of electric current.

Trailer?!? Surely you can't be serious. It must be a huge semi
trailer.

Yes and the axels been modified to lower the clearance 16 feet and wide is
10 feet

Sorry to ask so many questions. It is just rare to see another
Mauritius 43 for sale, especially one so well equipped. If you need

I have been very pleased with Truelove.

Gilles,

Thank you very much for the information. I am sorry that my French is
not good enough to correspond in French with you. Your English is
fine.

Re windvane: I was told that hydraulic steering slips a little so
that a regular windvane would not work. You do not seem to have that
problem. What brand of hydraulic steering do you have? What brand of
windvane do you have?

Good luck selling your boat.

Lee Huddleston
