Take a break
In an attempt to take a break from all the fast paced boating discussions, the following is offered for a little Saturday afternoon entertainment. Early Steve Winwood - Spencer Davis Group. Gives Ray Charles's version a run for it's money. (instrument note .... not a Hammond B3 .... just a simple home type spinet w/o Leslie.... but still sounds good) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzX4I6H32vQ Eisboch |

If you're a fan, check out his 2008 release "Nine Lives". I like it quite a bit. There's one song on the album where Eric Clapton guests and plays lead guitar like he hasn't played in years. Great stuff. |

Today I played 18 holes of golf at Pohick Bay golf course. Walked every inch. Shot an even 100, with two birdies and too many triple bogies. Temp was in the 50's, weather was beautiful. Nice break! -- A Harry Krause truism: "It's not a *baby* kicking, beautiful bride, it's just a fetus!" [A Narcissistic Hypocrite] |

I think you are right, and, after hearing another couple of songs from the same performance, I think it *is* hooked up to a Leslie. My new interest collection now consists of a vintage Hammond B3 with the 122 Leslie and a "Porta-B" that came with a simple, 825 Leslie. (no upper rotating horn). But, Thursday, I picked up a Leslie 760 that connects up to the Porta-B. That thing ROCKS! Capable of volume far beyond I'll ever play it, it's usually used in large, live band performances. Much brighter than the classic Leslie 122. Eisboch |
