For about all the years since WW2 we have ended up with about 20-22% of GDP as Federal tax revenue. We are now spending about 30% and increasing that amount. The wars are not the big kicker. They are part of it, but we are going to pay the military whether they are fighting or not. Feds are not spending much money on infrastructure. Feds are controlling education via the Department of Education and education is failing miserably. Taxing the hell out of those who earn money to give money to those that do not earn much money is not a fix. Tell me what Obama / Pelosi are going to do.
