The Obama team seriously vetted a half dozen possibilities, and I mean
seriously. Months were spent going over resumes and background checks.
Biden was the first and only choice. Biden is qualified to step in if
Obama is killed by one your your right-wing nutcases and run the
government properly. His disagreements with Obama during the primary
season were exactly the kinds of disgreements primary candidates have
with each other.

Your boy McCain wanted Tailgunner Joe as his running mate. Lieberman was
as well-qualified as Biden to be VEEP, and no one would have seriously
questioned the quality of that choice *except* the right-wing red meat
boys who would have bolted. McCain had to pass on his first choice.

So your boy McCain chose a woman he had met once for a few minutes and
talked to on the phone a few times. Sarah Palin is not qualified to step
in as president if McCain dies suddenly.

As it turned out, Obama chose wisely. Your boy McCain chose poorly. Ms.
Palin is so empty-headed the McCain campaign cannot risk putting her out
in front of the national media for a news conference. And even worse,
just like McCain, she has ethical problems.

apparent to me, that McCain has lost some of his mental faculties. I
believe this is the reason his campaign has gone negative. He is not as
in control of his campaign as he should be. I'll be happy to see him
lose this election, but I'll also be happy to see him retire with his
reputation intact. It's the least he deserves after a lifetime in
service to his country.

Kerry got what he deserved. Especially when he said that Nixon ordered
him into Cambodia before Nixon took office. And, when Kerry threw
someone else's medals over the fence giving everyone the impression they
were his medals.

McCain's military service is not relevant to me. It was more than three
decades ago, in a war as idiotic as the one we've involved in now in
Iraq. What's important to me is how and what McCain is *now* and it
isn't a pretty picture. He and his hockey puck mom have run an
insulting, disgusting campaign, aimed pleasing at the lowest common
denominator of the GOP base.

Well...McCain's set the tone for how he should be considered, and that's
the sort of consideration I'm giving him.
