This one ain't mine, but it is funnier than yours, and more accurate: 'Twas the night before Christmas, And all through the White House, New ideas were aborning Like ticks on a mouse. Rich folks' taxes were shriveling, Like grapes in the sun; Civil liberties vanished Until there were none. Dubya was tucked in For a night in the sack; Next morning he'd get a Fat check from a PAC. Unemployment might run out, But what did he care? CEO's would snatch options Out of thin air. Halliburton would prosper, Dick Cheney had said; Visions of dividends Danced in his head. When what before George's eyes did arise But a vision that made him distrust his eyes. Before him were people in trouble, in need: Aged, homeless, single moms, with children to feed. "We don't need a tax break," they shouted in chorus "We just need a White House that does something for us." They pointed their fingers, they wailed in despair; "Who are you?" said George W. "Why are you there?" "We're the people," they answered. "It's your job to lead us." "Care for people, find new jobs we can work at to feed us." George was startled, he said: "Don't you know I'm compassionate?" "But there's just so much wealth, and it's my job to ration it." The folks in the vision all pointed their fingers at George; in his mind, the image still lingers. "Out with Dubya and Cheney", they chanted away; "Down with Rove, Ari Fleisher, and of course, Tom DeLay. Give us a Senate that has no Trent Lott. This is democracy -- perhaps you forgot." Bush awoke in a swelter; his forehead was feverish; This wasn't his white-bread world, Beaver Cleaverish. There were people out there that he had no idea of: Poor and black, gay and female: not the class, all of we're of. He sprung from his bed and began to take notes. "Oh my God," thought the President, "They might have votes. I hope it's not true; what else could be horrider? They might even win the election in Florida." And he worried away through the rest of the night About power for the people, and to Bush a good fright. -- |

I looked at the header, and it said "Rejected at the other place," not "modern wood composite boats." Anyway, I was wondering what happened to your post over there, since when I looked, it didn't seem to be there. "Brownie" is doing one heck of a job moderating, eh? I'd love to see you call him "Brownie" in person. http://www.image-insolite.com/getite...rand_chien.jpg Eisboch When did SWF become "Brownie" or is that a "Brownie"? Harry's new affectionate name for SWF. Eisboch I think Brownie is doing a 'good job' as moderator at the other place. He's cut down the time it takes to read the interesting boating-related posts from 30 seconds to 0 seconds. |

Harry's new affectionate name for SWF. Really? How cute. Must be tough on Harry to be clever enough to think that one up - what with 2000 posts a day on that group he moderates plus the 200 or so he posts here every day. I must be getting to him. All part of the master plan to save the stump - if I drive Harry nuts and he starts shooting up the neighborhood, I'll be able to save one stump. Greenpeace has nothing on me. SAVE THE STUMP!! I will say one thing - now that you guys are keeping Larry...whoops - Harry busy over here, it's been very quiet over at the other place. Which, until Chuck gets back, is fine with me. Chuck can deal with Harry's "suggestions" like ban everybody but me. It's been an experience I'll tell you what. :) |

What do you mean by modern? Or composite? Wood planks and nails are composite, compared to a dugout, Casady I am talking about boats designed in the last 20 years or so, especially since epoxy has become affordable and attainable in the quantities needed to build boats. Plans that use the "new" dimensioned lumber and very modern occoume and other marine grade wood laminates, bronze/silicone ring nails, etc.. Tortured plywood, using glass and resin joinery as the main component in the boats framework, as opposed to wooden chinelogs for example.. That's what I do. Well, you are a liar, but I have built a couple of very capable John Gardner designs.. several of the boats I have built over the years are used on the ocean... Where's that pic of any boat you have built? |

Eisboch Thanks but no thanks. :-) You might want to try this free player. Plays just about any format. http://www.gomlab.com/eng/ Don, That player wouldn't play the QuickTime file. I found one that would and you might want to take a look. It's called VLC media player. I'm sorry I forgot to copy the link, but you should be able to Google it up easily. Thanks, Jim |
