Gene's Server Down?
"Eisboch" wrote in message ... "D.Duck" wrote in message ... What I've found it is *only* posts that are placed thru his server that are late or threaded incorrectly. Not conclusive but certainly suspicious. Come to think of it .... I think you might be correct. It would explain why several people using various other servers noticed the same thing at about the same time. I jump back and forth from Gene's to Giganews. All of a sudden I got a whole bunch of old posts that were 2-3 days old and already read and deleted show up again on the Giganews server. I'd have to go back and see who the authors were and if they were posting on Gene's server. Eisboch I've checked many headers and all that were mis-threaded or late is arriving were from Gene's server. It's enough to convince me that there is something haywire on his server. |

I just sampled the problem posts in the unthreaded threads (is that a phrase) and everyone is from Gene's. Plus, I'm seeing posts returned from Gene's that have already been read and ignored here. |
Gene's Server Down?
"Gene Kearns" wrote in message .com... I think I see the unintended result of another issue... a bit of housekeeping I was forced to do. After being knocked offline a couple of times by electrical storms, about 6100 messages were adjudged corrupt by the news server. It recommended re-indexing, which I did. I never anticipated that it would renumber the messages and then send them "as new." Live and learn..... That's all? Ok. You are forgiven. Eisboch |
