Then again, liberals love this kind of thing - proves that a
politician is human or something.

WOW, a democrat who repeatedly lied? What could possibly be next?

Wow...you'd think he sent 4000 Americans off to their deaths in an
overseas war waged for purely political reasons, or blew a few trillion
dollars of taxpayer money, or failed miserably to provide leadership after
Katrina, or...

Well, it's sad. But chin up...were Edwards a Republican, the other woman
would have been a man...or a young boy.

No. Instead it was someone to substitute for his wife who is fighting
cancer.

What a guy.

Indeed, he betrayed his wife. Bush has betrayed the entire country.

Your boy McCain dumped his first wife after she was seriously injured in
a car crash so he could date a rich, young blonde.

What percentage of the marriages of POW's of the Vietnam era ended in
divorce initiated by either party? And, when was the divorce initiated,
while the POW was still in captivity?

Was this an intentionally misleading post? If not, you need some
serious fact checking....

37% of Vietnam Era POWs have a marriage that ended in divorce. That
contrasts to about 50% of the over 45 male population at large.
http://www.divorcereform.org/rates.html
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...913136,00.html

McCain was 44 years old and back from Viet Nam for 7 years and within
one year of retirement from the military when he cheated on and then
dumped his first wife in lieu of a wealthier, more attractive, younger
woman.

Family values? Nope. Able to keep a sacred vow? Nope. Self centered
narcissistic ass? Yep. From his well documented past history, McCain
is NOT the kind of guy I'd want watching my back. In fact, I wouldn't
want to even briefly turn my back on him..... and that's the truth.

You are correct. But, we're choosing between two evils. I'll go with the
lesser - McCain.

If the other evil is John Edwards, I'm from NC...... I didn't even
need to know about his (Edwards') marital problems to pretend he
didn't exist....

Funny, my brother in NC has pretty much the same feelings. But no, I was
referring to the other evil, the one who doesn't look like the presidents
on the $5 and $1 dollar bills, and doesn't interject race into the debate.

You know, I was just thinking about something.

The President of the United States should not be elected because he/she is
the most handsome or pretty candidate.
The POTUS should also not be elected because they necessarily reflect the
highest level of personal moral behavior, based on "acceptable" standards
.... (whatever *they* are now-a-days).

He/she need not be selected because they are necessarily the smartest
candidate either.

The POTUS should be elected based on their ability to respect and defend our
Flag, Constitution and laws.
He/she should be capable of leadership in defending them from external
threats and directing the nation's military to do so as required.

He/she should be compassionate to the needy and an unbending bad ass to
those that want to hurt us.

I really don't care if the next POTUS had a divorce, for whatever their
personal reasons were.

And let's face it. A huge ego for anyone who wants the job goes with the
territory.
