Come on, do you really think Obama doesn't know what committees he is
on? These guys are giving hundreds a speeches a week. He misspoke. So
what?

The righties are desperate for something - anything - on which to make
an issue. Their boy McCain is going down big time, and so are a lot of
GOP Senate and House members. It's going to get really really ugly on
the right as the election gets closer.

How much mis-speaking is allowed?

While I would prefer McCain to be our next president. Since the odds
are Obama will win in November. I certainly hope you are correct. The
last thing we need is another brain dead president.

Interesting you should say this. While I'm tending towards Obama, my
decision hasn't been made. One of my concerns is McCain's brain power.
I've noticed on several occasions, his aides feeding him lines. So far,
it could just be campaign fatigue, but it is something to keep an eye on.

I sort of like McCain personally, but I think he is over the hill, and
is suffering from lapses that would be dangerous for this country in
these times. McCain would have been a great president had he been
elected in 2000, but not now.

We need to get the hell out of Iraq, as quickly as possible. That is not
going to happen with McCain in the White House. Also, McCain hasn't a
clue about the issues that impact most Americans, and if he picks
someone like Romney as a veep, it'll be more of the same: screwing what
remains of the middle class to further enrich the rich.

Mrs. Clinton was my first choice, but I have no problems with Barack
Obama as president. He's smart, ballsy, and I really think he cares
about ordinary people. The bonus is that he won't nominate any
right-wing screwballs to the Supreme Court, and he won't initiate
actions that curtail civil liberties.

I really don't know many people who could put up with the rigors of the
presidential campaign.

Agreed, and with all the abuse, the scrutinizing, you wonder why they
would want to, but they did make the choice.

I acknowledged a while ago that I was impressed with Obama. However, as
time as passed and I listen more closely, I become less so. He's a nice,
neat package, but there's something missing.

I am a believer that, just like a company, the president need not be an
Einstein. He/she simply has has to *know* that they aren't an Einstein and
surround themselves with a good, talented and smart staff that believe in
the overall principles/ideals that the he/she (the President) subscribes to.

Harry .... read carefully what I wrote before you jump the gun.
