Uh, Savannah isn't a "minor regional airport". It's an international
airport. Just because your local airport of choice isn't serviced
well, doesn't mean that Savannah is a minor regional airport.
And, US Airways, not express offers non-stop to Washington Reagan, and
there are many major airlines that can get you there with a change of
planes, non of which are puddle jumpers, but common carrier aircraft.

If Gulfstream wasn't headquartered in Savannah that airport wouldn't
support much more than a Cessna 182.

I've flown into and out of the airport serving Savannah at least a half
dozen times over the years. It's a small "regional" airport, not the
smallest or crummiest, just small.

I don't understand why the two Georgian troll brothers,
Loogy-between-the-Ears and Repulsive-Putrid-Schitt, are working so hard
to defend the airport. It serves its market and if it were a lot larger,
it would just encourage more growth in that part of the state. That's no
advantage.

One would hope it would never become another Atlanta airport, which gets
my vote for the worst large airport in the United States. It exists as
it is only for the convenience of the airlines, and once you are there,
if you are not changing planes, where are you? In Atlanta. Puke.

I work hard when I fly to avoid the Atlanta airport.

I'm not trying to defend any airport! I'm just stating facts, I know,
facts don't mean anything to you. What don't you like about Atlanta
Hartsfield? You do know it's one of the most user friendly large
airports in the country, don't you? You also do know that the Atlanta
area is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. don't you? What
is it specifically that you don't like about Atlanta? Is it the
abundant history here that bothers you? Is it the great museums? Is it
because it's considered the big apple of the south because of it's
nightlife, theaters and arts, abundance of fine dining, what?

6 lost balls = 6 strokes.

And the strokes didn't hurt any less just because the balls were free!

Free balls while playing golf? I thought you enjoyed that bonus when
cleaning them while working in the locker room but not while on the
course.

What is strange about him getting free balls? It was never meant to
be funny.

Bull****. Savannah's airport handles all types of heavy passenger
aircraft, and is quite busy because of military bases in the area.

When I want the opinion of an uneducated, semi-literate idiot, I'll
let you know. I flew into Savannah recently, and have done so about a
half dozen times. It's a dinky airport.

Savannah, though, is a very nice city.

Ohhhh, now I understand what you are looking for in a city. A city
with really big airport buildings. I thought you meant an airport
that was serviced on a regular basis by large planes. Savannah can
handle and has regular service by carriers using 727 etc, but the
airport building themselves are not as big as Atlanta, Chicago or
NYC. You really do have unique requirements for places to live. How
big is the airport in Costa Rica?

From where I live, Savannah is "served" mainly by the puddle-jumping
"partners" of the major airlines. The major airlines are crappy
enough...their "partners" are far worse.

United Express, operated by Mesa Airlines
US Airways Express
Delta, via "Freedom" Airlines
AirTran, from the wonderful folks who brought you ValuJet

Now, there are a couple of mainstays sprinkled about, but the majority
of the schedules indicate Savannah is a minor regional airport, just as
I described it.

As for the rest of your schitty opinion, well, you deserve the
usual...go foch yourself.

Well I guess you are will never find that perfect place.

Reminds me of a story about a farmer sitting on his front porch, during
the early 1900's A man in a wagon loaded down with all of his
belongings, stops and come up to the farmer. He asked the farmer what
the people of the town are like. The farmer replies, "well son, what
were they like where you came from. The traveler says, well that is why
I am moving, the people were rude, self centered, assholes. The farmer
said, "well they are about the same way here". So the traveler got back
in his wagon and continued heading west.

A few days later, another man come by, his wagon loaded with all of his
belongings, and he asked the same question. Again the farmer replied
"well son, what were they like where you moved from". The traveler got
a tear in his eye, said "That was the hardest part about moving West, is
we are leaving some of the nicest, most helpful and concerned neighbors
anyone could ask for". The farmer smiled back and said "Son, I think
you will find the people here are about the same".

Harry, have you ever noticed that no matter where you go, everyone is an
asshole?

Regarding airports.............when traveling to Boston I always
preferred to fly into Providence, RI vs Boston Logan. I always hated
to fly into Chicago and would drive their foregoing the flight.

I never had a problem with Atlanta and it's airport although it is not
a place I would choose to live.

Harry, have you ever noticed that no matter where you go, everyone is an

I think Tom stated the same thing about drivers in Virginia. He made
a similar comment about folks in another State some months back. I
missed your post to Tom asking that same question. ;-)

BTW: Does John Herring live in Virginia?
