nice day for boating... but....
yeah.. I know it is mid-season almost but I finally got my boat ready to go.
Administration stuff... got the boat licensed, found my boater safety card, and verified my insurance was up to date. Changed the oil... the oil filter was a real pain to get to... drained most of the gas out of the tank and put about 8 gallons in each of my vehicles. Not sure when the local station started using ethanol but didn't want to take the chance of a lousy running boat, figured if it was spread across each of my 4 vehicles it wouldn't be too risky. Put fresh gas in the boat (painful). Hooked up the fake-a-lake to supply water to the water input port (drilled toilet plunger with pvc pipe so I can connect a garden hose to it). The motor fired right up and purred for several minutes before I shut it down. Now it's a beautiful Sunday morning and ready to hit the lake for some enjoyable skiing and wakeboarding.... Well not quite.. My youngest son is on guard drill this weekend and my other son's wife is being a little testy so he I probably shouldn't pull him away. Probably wait till next weekend. A barbecue out by the pool wouldn't be bad either for an afternoon. oh well... rather not force things. Dennis |
