Sad News - Charlton Heston has died

One of the last of the bigger than life actors, Charlton Heston, has
died. I sure liked watching him on the Big Screen.

Thanks for posting this off topic news. No one here would have known
anything about it if it wasn't for you.

Every Easter my wife insists on watching one of Hestons biblical
stories....... even though we've seen them all about a dozen times since
they were new.
I liked the Omegia Man. I could almost feel like I was in that situation.

You might like Will Smith's version, I Am Legend.

I liked O'man better, but...my favorite Heston movie of the future
disaster genre was and shall remain Soylent Green. The"furniture" was
spectacular (Leigh Taylor-Young at her best), and it was, I believe, the
last role for Edward G. Robinson, one of the best to watch actors ever.

Yeah, I thought Omega Man was a better movie. However, it's been decades
since I've seen Soylent Green. Maybe I should look for it the next time
I'm in a video store.

You really owe it to yourself to watch "Soylent Green" again - it's a
classic.

You might like the very original "Last Man on Earth" with Vincent
Price. It's a little dated, but it is the original "legend" movie
based on the book and it follows the storyline closely. It's a good
movie - people often forget that Price was an excellant actor and he
proves it in this movie.

If you are into these "apoclypse" type movies, try "Silent Running"
with Bruce Dern. If you can get past the goofy robots, that's a great
"eco" movie years ahead of it's time.
