At a 1997 race-relations forum for teenagers in Boston, Hillary recalled
the “pain” of a “childhood encounter” that helped her to grasp the injury suffered by the victims of bigotry. During a junior high school soccer game on a cold day, Hillary claimed a goalee told her, "I wish people like you would freeze." Stunned, the future first lady asked how she could feel that way when she did not even know her. "I don’t have to know you, the goalee shot back, to know I hate you." Nice story, but it never happened. In 2004, the Athletic Director for South Main High School in Park Ridge and a 34-year veteran of the school system confirmed that there were no girls’ soccer teams of any kind in Hillary’s school district in the 1960s. Another one... Just this week, former Democratic Congressman William Lacy Clay, one of the original sponsors of the Family Leave Act, challenged her claim that she played a major role in passing the landmark bill. Hillary Clinton "never had anything to do with it," he said. Clay pointed out that the bill had been passed several times by the Democratic Congress before Bill and Hillary ever arrived in Washington, but was subsequently vetoed twice by former President Bush. And several more.... The longer the Democratic primary race for president lasts…..the more it reveals . Just when it appeared momentum in the form of a very angry Chicago minister was playing into the hands of Hillary Clinton…..she shows that she is the master of the misstatement. During a St. Patrick's Day press conference, the former first lady described a harrowing experience where she was airlifted into war-torn Bosnia and forced to dodge bullets on the tarmac. Video of that day revealed she might have embellished that claim. But that isn't new for Mrs. Clinton. In fact, she and her husband are the masters of embellishment-----or some might even say outright lies. Remember it was Hillary who said her daughter Chelsea was jogging around the World Trade Center on 9-11----when she was actually in bed watching the news reports. It was Hillary who told us she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, the first to climb Mt. Everest. He climbed it five years after she was born. She didn't know that her brother was being paid to secure pardons from her husband. She was always a Yankees fan while growing up in Chicago. She negotiated the release of refugees in Macedonia…even though they were released the day before she arrived there. And…among other things….she didn't know that her White House staff would fire the travel office staff after she told them to do so. All examples of the kind of double-talk that the Clintons engage in. If their lips are moving…they are likely telling you something that isn't entirely the truth. And what happened on the day that Senator Clinton was lambasted on her incorrect recollection of Bosnia? She told reporters she couldn't stay in a church headed by someone like Jeremiah Wright. In other words----"don't ask me about mythical bullets when you can ask Obama about his real life preacher." -- John *H* (Not the other one!) |

But of course NO Republicans would ever tell lies or embellish the truth to garner votes and or approval now, would they? Not the one's running for President now. -- John *H* (Not the other one!)- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - You mean like this: http://thinkprogress.org/2007/03/28/...n-mccain-iraq/ Yesterday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) told CNN that that President Bush's escalation in Iraq is going so well, "General Petraeus goes out there almost every day in an unarmed humvee." On Monday, he told radio host Bill Bennett that there "are neighborhoods in Baghdad where you and I could walk through those neighborhoods, today." This morning, during an interview with McCain, CNN's John Roberts rebutted McCain's assertions, stating, "I checked with General Petraeus's people overnight and they said he never goes out in anything less than an up-armored humvee." He added that a new report by retired Gen. Barry McCaffrey "said no Iraqi government official, coalition soldier, diplomat reporter could walk the streets of Baghdad without heavily armed protection." Faced with overwhelming evidence that he was wrong, McCain denied he'd ever said it: "Well, I'm not saying they could go without protection. The President goes around America with protection. So, certainly I didn't say that." Watch it: Or this: http://beertap.wordpress.com/2008/03...-talk-express/ Or this: http://rafaelmartel.com/2008/03/06/j...than-ron-paul/ Yep, him and his buddy Keating are just plain honest, huh? By the way, there are MANY more examples of McCain's lies. |
