It makes valuations very tricky and frequently the actual house is near zero even if well maintained. It's odd how that works huh? It certainly leads to odd situations. We just had a very decent house torn down across the street from us to make way for a new one. Lots of that going on in some surrounding towns. Danville and Alamo have lots of very nice homes that were ripped down to build a larger McMansion. $2mm+ teardowns. |
