Growing up, it always seemed so glum & draggy. Nothing was open here and we
were expected to spend a good time in church thinking about Christ's last
hours.
Easter Sunday sure made up for it though.

Tim, thanks for the 'intent' of the original post.

Having spent quite a few years in Roman Catholic schools, I can say that
Good Friday was always spent as a 'somber' day.

Interestingly, it seems as though the weather has most often followed the
somberness of the day, dreary, dark, and overcast. Then, Easter would
always be nice and bright and sunny.

This year seems to be different.

Must be due to Global Warming.
