Given my druthers, I'd take a AK over it's M-16 cousin anyday in close quarters if only for one reason - it's shorter and had much better balance even with the extra half pound of weight. It also will not jam - ever. Fewer parts, quicker disassembly/assembly and in a pinch, you can retrofit all AKs from other AKs. It's simple, effective and easy to maintain. And up to 250 yards, as accurate, or even more accurate, than the M-16 - whatever variant. Now if you want to reach out and touch someone, that's a different story. Close in, AK every time. |

I was wondering why so many pirates lost a leg...their slingshot failed and the "nasty Molotov" fell to the deck and blew up. Homebrew Molotovs won't hack it. If you want to ward off pirates, get yourself a heavy-duty fully automatic rifle, preferably a reliable Soviet Avtomat Kalashnikova model 1947 with a 75-round drum mag or a Barrett semi-auto that shoots .50 BMG. The .50 BMG will hole a hull at and below the waterline and penetrate an engine. Avoid the "modern" U.S. automatic assault rifles like the plague. Too finicky. Just inform the pirates that their home village will be eliminated from the living. And do it at least once. |

None as I did not serve (my number was not called). So are you disagreeing with me about the AK 47 or just trying to start more **** with me as you have done since coming back from your Mouse vacation today? I think you need another vacation John........at least from this NG as we fared far better without you and your nasty/argumentative/name calling attititude while you were gone. Chill out guy. I've now asked you two questions. They must be upsetting. Sorry. My bad. -- John *H* (Not the other one!) |
