Don't do it Tim, you will lose your groove..

I used to really enjoy Sha Na Na. Who can forget "Goodnight, Sweetheart"
performed at the end of their TV show series or Bowzer doing the end of
"Blue Moon"?

Mrs. E. and I saw them perform at a local hotel/conference center many
years
ago. The seating arrangement was very casual and intimate with tables
set
up like an old time coffee house. The band performed on a makeshift
"stage", but spent most of the time mingling around in the crowd, sitting
at
your table, etc. while singing with wireless mikes. It was a fun night
...
genuine, wholesome entertainment.

Nothing like them. We saw them at the Chateau de Swill (Chateau de
Ville) in Framingham at the height of their popularity - very similar
deal - small cabaret style seating - they were absoutely great.

Then again, I'm a big do-wop fan.

Ineresting side note: Bowzer Bauman was a classically trained opera
singer - Julliard I believe, only he was too tall and thin to acutally
work in an opera company.

Loved the TV show - appointment viewing.

I saw them at the Mill Hill Club in the late sixties. Awesome show.

I thought it was classical piano. I seem to remember seeing him play
in a formal setting..

From his official bio:

"Jon was something of a child prodigy at the piano, and started classical
lessons at age seven. He attended the Juilliard School beginning age l2 and
ultimately graduated Magna Cum Laude from prestigious Columbia College in
New York."

Not bad for a guy who looks like this:
