I think you should pay someone, namely me, to come and remove that old,
beat up, eyesore of an RV from your property. For a reasonable amount, I
might take the trailer also.

For the little use we have for it, I should take you up on that offer.
Mrs.E. will have no part of getting rid of it though, at least not yet.
I take it out once a month and drive it around for a day, running the
generator, just to keep it up to 'snuff. That's what is nice about it's
size. You can also use it for around town transportation and not feel
like you are driving a big RV or truck. When I was building a stairway up
to my new office and needed some 14' 2x10's at Lowe's, it came in handy.
Still, after 2 and a half years, it only has 3,700 miles on it.

Hopefully, within the next couple of weeks, I am planning on a little
mid-winter voyage in it. I have no idea where I am going to head, but it
will be someplace warmer and dryer than here. Winter sucks.

If you do unload that Sprinter camper, post it in here first.
JohnH will only get as far as Disney World and that's where it'll end it's
life..up on blocks at some sleazy trailer park.

Nope. First trip will be to Flagstaff, AZ, for at least a couple of weeks.
There is just an awful lot of beauty within a days drive of Flagstaff.

Did you ever follow up or try to negotiate on the one you saw for sale on
the military base?

The asking price is $63,000, and the most I could get the NADA value to was
about $53,000 for that year, mileage, and accessories. I called and talked
to the lady. She tried to convince me it was a super deal, even when I
pointed out I could get a new 2007 (different make, same chassis), for
$62,700. She started in about how theirs was on a Mercedes chassis, and was
much better than what I was looking at. When I pointed out the chassis were
the same, she just kept saying that her's was a real good deal.

A poster over on 'RV' said that maybe they financed and still owed that
amount. That sounds like it may be true.

Sounds like it. RV's .... like boats (oopps ... should say "most" boats.
I forgot that some people sell 'em for close to what they paid for 'em)
..... depreciate enormously in the first year or two and if they financed it
they could easily be upside down.

Finding a used one, in good condition, and accurately priced is your best
bet.

"Don't forget Winona". I spent last weekend at Little America in Flagstaff.
Went up to see the snow. Flagstaff is a good base camp for touring the
Southwest's "Grand Circle". Let us know if "you ever plan to motor west."

Like I say, Flagstaff will be our first trip. When stationed in Los
Angeles, I had some Reserve units I worked with. Their training camp was
just out of Flagstaff, so I had reason to go there every so often. I fell
in love with the place, but my wife's never seen it or any of the
surrounding sights.

What is the 'Grand Circle'?
