Honest truth:
I was at a flea market in Tampa, and talking to a vendor who happened
to have some sort of little monkey. Dude drops the leash and asks me
to pick it up for him, as he was on a bar stool. I reach down to get
it, and that freakin' monkey was on me like a fat lady on a donut!
That sob was all teeth and claws! In a couple of seconds that thing
had bit my arm twice and scratched the hell out of me. I was ****ed at
the vendor guy for that one!

Did you get shots for possible infections?
I try to stay from monkeys. Not hard to do, really (-:
Hitchhiking in the Navy, I found myself in the monkey trailer
of Joe Lempke of the Shriner's Circus with a female chimp hanging
onto me. Damn strong. But she didn't bite me, just gave me a kiss,
so it wasn't too bad.

I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun with these out on the boat
next summer. I like to do "colors" at sundown, and blow taps on the
shuttle pipe. That manages to annoy everybody for 30-40 yards around.
With a great highland pipe, I will be heard for about half a mile in
all directions. :-)

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I've always wanted to
learn how to play the pipes.

If only for the annoyance factor. *:)

You think your annoyance factor is not high enough already? * :-)

I am starting to like playing my electric with no pick. Although I
play through a 15 amp practice amp (got a Boss DS1 too:) I am able to
pull some nice (to me) sounds out with my fingers.. I am a real
beginner though, so I don't have a lot to compare to. When I watch my
G3 CD I get a little idea.
It's funny. With all my rock and roll background and I worked around
music a lot as a vocalist, I never really paid much attention to the
individual sound or feel of different guitars. I heard them, but never
really listened, ****es me off now as I had so many opportunities and
willing teachers when I was a kid.

I think Mark Knopfler is a great example of nice touch with
bare fingers. Also check out Dereck Trucks if you get a
chance to see him. I caught him a few years back opening
for Eric Johnson at a local club.

really wasn't that fond of the neck on my Jaguar, as it was a short
scale. Probably intended to make it easier for small hands to reach
difficult chords, but it really hurt the playability and tone as far
as I was concerned. That guitar was also where I realized that slide
switches don't belong on guitars.

My first electric was an old Mustang... same problems, the
damn slide switches were always intermittent.

VanHalen many times,

Been a long, long time since you posted anything useful or original

boat? Got anything on topic to add here?
