Well, W'hine, if you had something to do, the few hours it takes to
rebuild a hard drive from scratch might interfere with some worthwhile
activity. But you don't really have any.

Well gosh darn Harry, I guess your wasted hours on Usenet are much
better spent then mine, as well as your low transom boating hours. I
guess I'll have to step up my community service activities to the same
high standards as yours. Speaking of which, just what are your major
contributions to mankind other than prevarication, childish insults,
name calling, etc. ?

Harry's in-laws are philanthropists and he thinks you should emulate
them. Harry is working hard to eradicate pesky tree stumps; thereby
improving the quality of life for all mankind.

Shooting up tree stumps is more productive than your hobby of trying to
ejaculate a load into this newsgroup. Maybe you need a dirty magazine,
showing a couple of your GOP buddies in the Minneapolis airport mens' room?

Harry, whatever you do, don't killfile all those folks. The Bozo's Bin is
already crowded, and it sounds like there's about a dozen more trying to
get in.

It must be nice to be popular!

Me? Hey, I simply am following in your large wake of snottiness.

Large wake ?

Now we're talking. Let's hear it for large wakes, keeping low transom
louts at bay so to speak.

Get yourself a Windows Home Server from HP. You can back up and restore
your entire machine with virtually no operator input, and with the new
release, you can even backup your backups to removable hard drives and
store them off site. You can do a lot more with the WHS, too, which makes
it more interesting than simply using decent backup software to backup
your drives and reinstall them with a CD restore disk.

Why?

I mean, what the heck is so important about a stupid computer to do this
stuff?

Those of you that rely on a computer to store important information deserve
to get crashed ... or whatever.

Eisboch

With a WHS, you can back up and restore all the computers in your
household automatically, you can serve up saved movies stored on the WHS
to any computer in your household without clogging up the hard drive on
that computer, and you can also use the device as an iTunes server.
There are many other features, but those are the ones I use the most.

Now I *really* feel bad!

First I didn't have a couple hundred movies laying around, and now I see
that the I should have a WHS to back up and restore *all* the computers in
my household.

Gees, does *all* mean several, a dozen, a couple hundred? Man, I am way
behind you folks. Somehow I'm getting by with only one.

Hey John. Harry let me out on good behavior. I think our little chat has him
aroused. He's starting to talk dirty. ;-

I guess you aren't a computer geek then ;-).
I am not even sure how many I have but I use 5 just about every day
and 3 are always on. Everything gets a network card when I build it.

We have the same number here, including two laptops.

1 laptop, 4 desktops in our house. *2 in my office, 1 in my wife's office
and 1 each in the kids bedrooms. * That does not include my son's laptop and
my daughters desktop they have with them.

Why would you need two computers in the same place?

D-unit - I just downloaded and installed Autoruns. Cool little program.
Thanks for suggesting it. I especially like the way it can jump to the
internet for info on the files that are starting.

Again, thanks.
