At least at the indoor venue, on a cold and rainy Saturday.

Elbow-to-elbow for several hours in the entire facility.

My informal attendance barometer: we gave away free magazines at a
*much* faster pace than in any recent year. You would think we had
stapled a $20 bill to the cover.

Very good news: I was astonished at the number of people we met who
came up to the booth and (in the course of conversation) commented
that they weren't familiar with our publication. It's been around
since 1965, and is found literally everywhere that boaters congregate.
Not everybody likes it or reads it, but most everybody at least knows
about it.

Most people who aren't familiar with the magazine are from out of the
area, as we are a regional publication. This year, however, many many
people weren't familiar with it because "We're just now getting into
boating..." Lots of these folks were younger families with school-age
kids.

Hot dawg!

(What if they gave a recession, and nobody came?)

Crowds indoors on a cold and rainy day?

What a surprise!

Psst, Harry.......

It's almost always at least somewhat cold and rainy in the Pacific
North Wet in January. :-)

They could have gone to the movies instead, and for less $ per ticket.

Not fair Harry, it's like the yin and yang... Without warm sun, there
can be no cold rain. Leave the poor guy alone, most don't know what
they are missing up there anyway.

Maybe they're looking for something to spend that $600.00 on.

By this time next year, that'll buy a 30-year-old, 49' RV barge. Fuel
extra.

Yeah, we're missing sweating like pigs all summer, dashing from air
conditioned office to air conditioned car to air conditioned house or
air conditioned boat. We're missing the ability to see and weigh the
air before we breathe it. We're missing the requirement to share every
square foot of navigable water with 400 of our closest friends. Life
is tough up here, alright. :-)

No it's not a secret, but unless you live in this corner of the
country our regional publication is very hard to come by. I also avoid
spamming my product here. If you *did* live in this corner of the
country and had any interest at all in boating magazines you would
already know which publication I am associated with. (I use my real
name in this group, and it usually appears 2-3 times in each issue).

Send me an email so I can avoid spamming the group, (use my gmail
address), and I will pass along the particulars.
