A question about fantastic failures.
I realize I'm not putting much thought into this post, and I forget
the name of the guy that is uber-rich, that made a few unsucessful baloon adventures to try to float around the world, or the atlantic etc, then he flew a plane for some record around the world soso attempt, then on his last adventure of what ever glorious feat he was labeled as "missing".. What ever came of the guy? Did he survive? be found? rescued? or is still..."Missing"? |

A routine flight. Kind fo ironic. That seems to happen with a lot of
great people or is noted of. Like Teddy Roosevelt travels the world over spends time in the Amazon fighting off malaria bourne mostquitoes and snakes etc, then gets an infeciton in his heel which kills him. Geo Patton fights in ww1 and commands ww2 then gets killed in an auto accident. Flying a U-2 spy glideer over Soviet russia,Francis Gary Powers gets shot down and paraded around the world. is either classed as a hero or a traitor, then gets killed while flying a traffic hillicopter, and the list goes on.... If you have assets in the 8 figures, your assets are enough to protect your loved ones. He was retired, so him and his wife were already living off his assets. |

I just read a news article that stated she was asking for the courts to declare Fossett dead, so they could probate the will. No one contested the proceedings, so he probably didn't have life insurance. |

That's interesting to say the least.
