People need to get over this idiotic notion of hooking the internet to
every thing on the planet. Anyone who allows any physical connection
between critical grid controls and the internet is a moron beyond
ordinary stupid and well into the realm of criminally negligent
stupid.

They need a voltnet similar to milnet.

MILNet is old tech. Now NIPRNet is in use and the more secure SIPRNet.

You are, however, correct. Without extremely drastic measures, one
should treat the Internet as a party line....



I've been out of the network business for about 10 years. And, I have
avoided government contracting which is hard to do in the Washington DC
area.
