Apple is supposed to install Blu-Ray disc readers in all new Macs
according to rumor. *If that happens, it's over for HD DVD.

I agree, I think HD-DVD will go the way of Beta vs. VCR.

I have to agree with CNET, don't buy HD-DVD

Bros. Entertainment will be exclusively supporting Blu-ray, CNET
recommends refraining from purchasing an HD DVD player in the near future.
Exclusive support of Warner Bros. Entertainment gives Blu-ray a large
advantage in terms of studio backing, leaving only Paramount and Universal
as major studios releasing movies exclusively on the HD DVD format. This
guide will be overhauled after CES to reflect this and any other news
announced at the show.

I am not too sure I would buy either. Format wars, changing tech, what you
buy today is likely to be useless in short order.

Did Betamax. Now I am a little more wiser and waiting for the format wars
to be over, the technology to stabilize and see if it is even accepted by
the public. Just because Sony/Warner says so...does not make it so.

The battle is finally over. It doesn't matter which is better. If
you bought an HD DVD player, you're outa luck.
