A 20-foot custom camp/cruiser? A camper boat for midgets?

He called you a 'little man'. Spot on, huh?

Be very careful mentioning your dad. There's a couple of posters here who
will use your relationship with him against you.. or to try and control you.
Isn't that right Johnny boy?

You would have seen it locally anyway, right? I have DTV, so it was never an
issue here.

WHOO HOO!!

How's that Jerry Jones - you freakin' moron.

Of course there is something disquieting about this - as in I can't
get an answer out of my two Democratic Senators about the impending
EPA runoff/gray water issue for small boats nor can I get an answer
out of my Democrat Representative about the same issue.

I can, however, get them to intervene in the Partriots/Giants game
controversy and watch them brag about it on TV without even asking
them to.

Sometimes, you just gotta wonder.

If I understood it right, for some reason it was not going to run on
network tv... Could be wrong though...

And to the origional post. In my opinion if the NFL goes pay channel
only, racin' should take some of these South American drivers from
formula one, so they could expand to the southeren hemisphere and
lengthen their season... Hummmm, can you say Emilio Cas... well I
can't even spell it, but I know he could be key..

That's true. It was/is scheduled to show on the NFL Network. The problem
there is that only DTV (and COX I believe), "gives" you that network as part
of the lowest rate tier. The others (Dish, Comcast, etc), make you buy a
more expensive tier to get that channel. As a result, over 1/2 of the
country would not be able to watch the game.

The NFL did concede to the local market, and all of New England, and NY
would already be getting it on a local broadcast channel. Now, as Tom says,
they caved and the whole country can watch it. Good call.

Not in CT or RI - NH and MA and NY local. Channel 5 and the NYC
affiliate were carrying it, but because CT and RI aren't considered as
part of Boston's or NY's market - kind of a no-man's land, the local
stations were going to be blacked out. So we weren't going to be able
to watch it.

Comcast is the only cable carrier that carries the NFL network and it
carries it in a "speciality" tier because of the cost - the NFL
charges a lot for thier programming. So even Comcast customers
couldn't get it unless they owned the digital sports tier which only
30% of their customers had.

Of the 40 million nationwide who could get the game, the estimate was
that only 40% had any interest in watching on the NFL network.

The NFL feels that their network belongs on the basic tier and can't
seem to understand that only eight games per year doesn't make for
good TV programming. The cable companies don't want to pay three
times again for basic programming compared to other networks they
carry on basic cable.

MLB did it right - they offered part ownership of their MLB channel
proramming to the cable companies and lightened up on the basic fee
they charge.

In any case, we got it, I'm happy.

Unfortunately, it will be the only thing on TV Saturday night in the
local area as NBC, ABC and CBS will all be broadcasting the game.

Weird - nothing to everything. :)

My Bad, it was my brother in Boston that said it was going to be on locally.
However, COX cable does carry the NFL network (ch 137), and that's my
brother's cable co in Cheshire. He said it's carried on the basic tier as
well. I knew both east coast bros could watch it... just got confused as to
how.

The whole black-out/my territory thing with sports is a friggin joke anyway.
Just 2 years ago, my bro in Cheshire was FINALLY able to get NESN. For
years, the Yankees claimed that it was their territory, and NESN wasn't
offered. He was one of the main guys that spearheaded the effort with the
Red Sox to get COX to carry NESN.

GO PATS!!!
