This weeks surf. Mavericks may go this week. Lost a local crab boat
yesterday, close to HMB harbor. They have found the EPIRB but not the boat.
Swells are supposed to be decreasing to 12' tomorrow.

Can't be the second worst bar on the west coast.

In fact, I've negotiated worse bars and I'm here to tell you about it.

Really, Bill. Take a careful look.......

No renegades, whores, drug dealers, or weapons visible in any of those
photos. No stale beer, no puke on the floor, no swarm of flies
rejoicing over a wretched puddle seeping out from under the rest room
door. Looks pretty tame to me. :-)

The Golden Gate is considered the worst ocean crossing bar on the West
Coast. As to the other gnarly bars, there are some of those here also.

At the south end of the bridge or in mid-channel?

The North bar (Four Fathom Bank) is the killer. Very few traverse the south
bar and live to tell the story. There is a South Channel on the charts, but
is really non-existent. You have to be within about 20' of the rocks on
shore to have enough depth in most boats. Actually mid channel can be crap
also, but is deeper and as long as you stay mid channel, is doable. Pt.
Bonita on the North comes out a long ways towards the channel and has rocks
offshore of the point.
