Anyway, a couple of years back I decided it was time to learn a lot
more about music, specifically reading music. Anyway, during that
initial time I found that if I "eat dog bones" it would help me learn

EAt DoG BoneEs the open strings on a 6 string guitar.

the statement that is not part of the scale, you are left with
eadgbe . I told my son in law who is a guitar teacher, he uses it with
his new students to help them remember...

Huh...?
In my course it was ..
Easter
Bunnies
Go
Dancing

Sorry to hear you're reduced to eating dog bones.

After all, every good boy deserves fudge, and good boys do fine always.
