Now go eat some turkey and enjoy the afternoon.

Forget to mention, one roasting in the oven and one going in the fryer in
two hours.

Enjoy, whichever way you like it.

Amazing how almost everyone in denial about our contribution to "global
warming" spouts the same right-wing crapola. Obviously science denial is
a right-wing kind of thing.

Sicko is a one-sided look at medical care made to portray the US system as
mean and cold hearted. Why doesn't Michael Moore do a documentary about
the housing in the US vs. Cuba

I do not believe that humans have caused global warming.

What type of scientists comprise this group that you call "99% of
scientists?"

Yes I do know more than 99% of them.

You know more than 99% of the scientists????
Why are you wasting your time here...doesn't seem productive for someone of
your importance.

True Don, you are a sycophant and you are beyond help.

Did your house burn down yet? ;-)

I really don't think it's funny. If you watch what you're doing there isn't
any problem. I've done many foods in the fryer and never had a problem.

I'm still trying to figure out why if you have a standard oven or two in
your kitchen, you would want to deep fry a turkey.

I do. ;-)

Relax. Enjoy your turkeys and Happy Thanksgiving!

Jim...if I drive to Ohio to your place, would you let me start a fire up
under three or four gallons of oil so I can cook my turkey? If I tried
that here, my wife would shoot me.

You don't have to understand it. We have two ovens, one has a turkey
roasting in it.

Different strokes for different folks.

Because after 58 years, I figured it would be nice to try something
different.
I was going to try the deep fry in addition to the oven baked turkey Mrs.E.
or somebody prepares.

Maybe for Christmas.

Or maybe next week.

It's all about taste. Think of chicken. Does a piece of fried chicken
taste like the same piece oven baked? Deep fried turkey is very good.
It's super moist, frying intensifies flavors, etc. When I first fried
a turkey, I was amazed at how different it was from oven done turkey.
I still do oven birds, but sometimes I do fried, and sometimes I smoke
them on my offset smoker. I can still do all of the traditional sides,
because I buy turkey wings, oven bake some of them for gravy complete
with giblets and deglazed bits from the wing pan, plus the giblets and
neck broth is used in the stuffing. I have actually stuffed a smoked
bird with good results, I just too off the crusty too smoky part of
the stuffing. In short, don't knock something you haven't tried.
