I have some carpet edges that are showing , is there a easy way to bind the
edges so that it wont fray or tear?

Binding tape is sold by fabric shops. Basically a pre-folded
fabric that encases the edge of materials. Pick your color,
and super-glue it on. Of course, if you happen to have an
industrial sewing machine, you could sew it.

Carpet installers regularly use a product called "seam sealer". Two
varieties are available: latex based, and nasty goop based. The
latex works OK, dries clear, and cleans off your fingers with water.
The nasty goop based takes longer to dry, is amber in color, never
comes off your fingers, and wears like iron.

"nasty goop" is not a trade name, and if you ask for it by name, they
will laugh at you. :o)

Check your local builder's supply (like Lowe's or Home Depot).

Good luck,
noah
