Almost boring being a Pats fan...

Man, it's almost boring to be a Pats fan lately, except when you look
who you are watching. The list of players and experience is just
awesome, from the old regulars to the old foes, it's almost like
watching an all star game every time they take the field. Bruschi,
Moss, Harrison, Seau, and that kid, Brady.. What a time to be a Pats
fan.

Not as much of a fan of Baseball or Hockey, but I did grow up
following the Redsox, Patriots, and the Hartford Failers (er, Whalers)
as a kid so I do know pain. I had gotten to a point years ago for the
sox of not saying "maybe next year" but "maybe in my lifetime". Now I
am actually feeling pretty much spoiled.

Still can't pick a favorite for Rednecks turning left since Dale
died.. Maybe next year, maybe in my lifetime.

Not a concern to me. I am so NOT a pro football fan that I wouldn't care
if the Redskins picked up and moved to another city. In fact, I think
the area would be better off without a pro football team.

It is scary to think that Boston may take the World Series, the Super Bowl,
the NBA Championship and the NHL Stanley Cup.

Has any City's sports teams ever accomplished this?

New Haven. One year the Blades won the EHL title, Yale won the Ivy
League title, Hillhouse (my high school) won the New England basketball
tournament, and Greist Manufacturing sponsored the state champion teens'
baseball team. I was the second baseman on that team. :}

That was in the days when New Haven was still a major manufacturing
center for machines, machine tools, and armament. Lots of good jobs. No
more.

Heard a commentator talking today about the "Globalization" of pro
Football in reference to the NFL game played in England today. He
noted that the NFL still had untapped areas of the US, he said "maybe
they should put a pro Football team in Miami" ;)... he, he, my kid is

Rest easy - the Lord Stanley's Cup won't be coming to Boston anytime
in the next century or two.

I believe that there have been two sports - like basketball/football
or baseball/football, but I don't think it's been all of the pro
sports.

This year in Boston, there is a strong possibility of a college
football championship (Boston College) and a professional football
championship plus the World Serious. It would be amazing if the
Celtics put it together and that is a maybe - outside possibility if
Allen, Garnet and Pearce can all work together.

UConn has actually been natinoally ranked this week in football and as
far as college basketball goes, both teams may repeat again - men and
women - both teams are loaded with talent.

Plus the Revolution - I forgot about them. They are a title
contender.

However, the fly in the ointment are the Bruins who will suck until
time stops and the universe is cold. :)

been on top of the charts with a better championship record than the

Where's Y.A. Tittle?

Local insurance agent.

Really? Cool. Glad he is still alive.

Went to college at SF State with YA's kid. Took a scuba class with him. I
also went to City College of San Francisco with OJ. YA's kid turned out
better.

I've been a Mark Martin fan since his Busch days so I'm just starting
to do the driver hunt. Wish he would really retire so I could get on
with it. :o)
Mark E. Willliams
PS...I thought about Carl Edwards till his temper showed up. LOL.
Well, maybe the Hamlin kid if he matures well. Jr. has turned into a
decent adult but who knows.
