260 sundancer, 270 AJ need advice on power

I had a 2002 regal 32 and decided it was time to downside for my needs
Bought a 2006 sundancer240 with a mag 350 last yr. 2 seasons later its a bit
too small a boat Looking at a new 260 sundancer(4' longer LOA) and possibly
270 AJ(6' longer overall). All the in stock 260's inthe east coat marine
max inventory list are mag 350. Will this boat be a slug.? There's a 12k
differential to step up to a 6.2. Too much of a difference for my budget in
this price class. The 270s are the same price with a 6.2. it's more of a
fishing boat and I don't fish much but still has a great cockpit layout. The
cabins are much the same. Please advise

We test drove a couple of 260 Sundancers with 350 magnums and were not
impressed with performance. You have to run them hard at over 3500
RPM to get them to cruise at 24 kts. We ended up with a 270 Sundeck
powered by a 6.2L MPI/Bravo 3. It will cruise at 26 to 27 kts turning
3500.
