Getting ready for winter.
Originally this cabinet housed an old fashioned CRT type television. It was situated too low to view comfortably from the couch on the other side of the boat. I replaced it with the flat screen on top of the counter. The closed side of the cabinet now houses new surround sound audio equipment. This question was, what to put in the side that used to contain the television. The solution: http://www.eisboch.com/fireplace.jpg It's powered by it's own, dedicated 15 amp electrical service and breaker. Eisboch |

It's a heater. Not much, but enough to take the chill off. Eisboch |

It puts out heat .... two settings ... 800 watts and 1500 watts. Good for taking the morning and evening chill out of that section of the boat. I still can run the reverse cycle heat pumps. They won't be winterized until the first extended hard freeze is forecast. There's four of them in the boat and they keep the boat nice and warm until the ocean water temp gets too cold. Right now I only use two of them ... one in the pilothouse and the one in the main stateroom at night. The people that live on that "Red Nek Bot Klub" use their reverse cycle heat pump all winter ... they don't winterize it at all. Right now it is 36 degrees outside. Inside the boat it's a comfortable 68 degrees. Eisboch |

You sure did not know anything about our pitching and bats. If anything I thought it may go all 7 games, which it still may. The Sox have to take tonight's game or it is over. Wakefield is coming back after a long rest. It will be interesting to watch if he has it (knuckleball) tonight. It was the first few innings of the second game when the Sox started figuring Carmona out that I felt it might be a sweep. IMO Carmona is an overpowering pitcher. But, did you note that it took a former Red Sox (Nixon) to turn the game around for the Indians? Eisboch A Red Sox-Rocky Mountain Fever series would be dull enough, but a Rocky Mountain-Cleveland series? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzz. |

I guess only large market teams are the only ones who should make the trip to the World Series. Maybe only LA, Chicago, Boston and NY should be able to play in championship games. After all, it is all about TV revenue, eh? BTW, Colorado has won 21 of their last 22 games, an amazing feat. I can't recall the name of one player on either team. The only memory I have of Cleveland baseball is that awful movie, Major League. I'm telling you, since the departure from this world of George Szell 37 years ago, well, Cleveland hasn't been the same. :} |
