Except for the freighter, we were the fastest boat out there.

Yeah, it is much more fun to fish 15 min from your launch ramp, and then
float fish for another 15 min.

residents there do some amazing things in small boats.

No need for that. If we travel to a distant place where having a boat
would be fun, we rent or charter one. No muss, no fuss, and when you
return it, someone else cleans it out. If you want a slow-moving GB RV,
you can rent one from $150 to $250 a day.

We're going to San Diego in February. Already chartered a boat for two
days during the week we'll be there.

Damn, there isn't much to do anymore. I guess that explains why Harry
only uses his boat 25 hrs a year.

Is it? Gee, I spent 30 seconds looking and found a bunch of GB's renting
out for about $1800- $1995 a week, and about $300 an hour. I'm sure I
could find some in the $250 price range if I wanted to waste time on a
search.

Let's see... 7 x 24 = 168 hours. $1800 / 168 = $10.71 an hour.
