Damned weathercasters...

At the moment, there is no visible wind here, the air temp is almost 60,
and if I can find a package of squid, I'm going feeeshing, except some
forecasters are predicting 15 knot winds out of the north later with two
to three footers, and others are predicting only two footers out of the
north, and just a few miles north of here, at the Thomas Point light,
the wind is already blowing 13-15 knots, and one forecaster is saying
the winds will subside.

The easy part: if I go out, head north to northeast now and "surf" back
later. But since the damned forecasters are rarely right about anything,
the wind and waves could be a lot more significant than predicted or...less.

I wish our guv'mint spent more on providing useful information and a
whole lot less on military misadventures.

Head to Stop and Shop or whatever large grocery store you have in the
area. Come in one pound packages.

Well, with that low transom...

I'm sorry - couldn't resist. :)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just noticed that the damned forecast was issued at
3:54 am. I remember the days of frequent updates, but I guess those are
long gone...after all, we need to blow more federal dollars on dimwitted
military excursions overseas...

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Hillary is taking her money from every organized
criminal organization in the world. Anyway, go get some bait and go
fishing, send us a pic or two later tonight. Show us some fish
pictures, you can even put funny captions on them, like this:

Imagine what you could do to some of the guys with some ugly old fish
on the bow of the parker;)

You know, I used to always buy my squid at supermarkets, but the three
chains around here just plain stopped carrying it. More and more, the
markets have gone to Meals Almost Ready to Eat and have dropped less
common items that required preparation and cooking. Frozen squid is one
of those in the latter category. Well, the local bait shop had some last
week...probably still does, and probably pretty tough from being frozen,
thawed and frozen 20 times in its rickety freezer.

Yeah, I'm worried about my 25" transom :}. I met a guy with the same
boat hull (the 2120 Parker) last week who ordered his with the splash
guard. He's modified it so it can be detached and re-attached easily.
Since doing that last year, it is stored in a plastic bag in his boat's
cabin.

When I was at the dealer's, I encountered the splash guard and knew
immediately what would happen if I got my boat with one...I saw a clear
picture of myself tripping over the damned thing and falling over the
transom into the drink.

I buy 100 lbs every spring - restaurant quality from a packer over in
Narragansett. I still have about 60 pounds left after giving some
away and using the rest.

I'll probably use the rest this year on black fish - I feel like doing
some black fish fishing this year. Maybe winter flounder.
