I set up a Yahoo email account and sent you an email with that. Let me know if you got it. Jim This is funny as hell. Makes it look like the only way to communicate is a public newsgroup. Ever hear of a telephone? --Vic No. And stop calling me. WHOO HOO - WHOO HOO HOO... :) Get it - Whoo Hoo - Yoo Hoo? Ahem... Never mind. |

I only check it about once a week to find out how many millions I have waiting in lottery winnings and Nigerian bank accounts. I probably got quite a bit wealthier since I last checked. Heh. I did an experiment a couple of months ago by putting a dummy account in the email on my server. It was up for one post on one day. Fifteen minutes until the first spam showed up. To date, 23 per day is the average. And I seem to be very popular in Nigeria. |

It was empty since I dumped it last week. The one that gets the most junk is the yahoo account I use for on-line ordering. It seems spamming has dropped off a bit as people wise up to it. Or maybe it's because they threw that guy in the can last year - he was prolific. Doesn't take but a couple criminals to cause a "crime wave." --Vic |

Like, about a thousand a month. OH some still get though, but once you've labeled them as spam, it pretty well filters them out. I'm using my AOL acct at the moment, and spam creeps into viewing way more than necessary. |

Whoa. Never saw it that bad. I'm using my AOL acct at the moment, and spam creeps into viewing way more than necessary. I probably should have said that nearly all the spam I get with Yahoo goes into a "bulk" folder, so the spam guard works ok. My main use of email is on-line verifications, shipping notices, etc. The only personal stuff is the occasional pics my kids send. I've got one each in Hawaii, Australia, and Spain. When I want to talk with them - or anybody else one-on-one, I just pick up the phone. When I call Australia, I use a phone card so have to plug in a bunch of numbers, but you can talk for hours for 5 bucks. I might have to use a card for Spain too. I'll see when I get my phone bill. Some comedian had a line about these kids using text messenging that went something like this: "You're pushing these tiny buttons to slowly have a sometimes intelligible conversation with somebody. Hey, dummy. You've got a phone in your hand!!" --Vic |
