Black Patches on Pontoon Boat Carpet

My 15 year old boat has black patches on the indoor outdoor carpet. It
appears to be old mildew. Vinegar and baking soda didn't touch it. Carpet
cleaner doesn't work. Any suggestions appreciated.

The vinegar ans soda douche' probablytook care of the mold and mildew,
but your carpeting is probably permanently stained. you might check
with someone that sells carpetng or is in the carpet cleaning business
and ask them what they would recomend.

That's about all I can add

The traditional remedy for mildew is chlorine bleach. It works but
will probably leave you with blotchy coloration. After 15 years it
may be time to replace the carpet.

A lot of those carpets are bleach resistant. Try a little bleach some place
where the carpet doesn't show and see. Bleach will reduce the intensity of
the stain even if it does not remove it.

I'm not sure what vinegar and baking soda is supposed to do...

Chlorine bleach should work, but I'd first try a sodium percarbonate product
like Oxiclean to see if it might remove the stains with fewer undesirable
side effects. Besides the potential for discoloring your carpet, chlorine is
not a good friend to stainless steel and aluminum.

Boat Carpet / Marine Carpet PVC

I had this product on my old boat and it was fantastic. I just purchase a new boat and going to use the product on the floor in my new boat. I have used many marine flooring products over the years and this product is the best and better than any other product I have used in the past. Highly recommend this DECKadence
