They are also using the 4-TEC engine in some boats this year in addition
to offering the Mercury engines.

Why would you think that??
The original owners of the company are back . They built the first Seadoo in
the late '60's. Why would they stop now??
As far as the engines, they have used Rotax engines since the beginning,
again, why stop now??

Gee, Sea Doo sells what, about 55% of all the PWC's? I guess the most
rebuilds you would get would be theirs.

Yeah yeah yeah...the Poo Rep tried that argument as well...BUT...in
my area, until the past couple of years, Poos were sold at about 3:1
odds for Kawasaki, Yamaha and Polaris (not combined). I repair
about 15 Poos for each one Kawasaki or Yamaha or Polaris I repair.
The numbers don't lie.

Sea Doo: Job security for the service industry.

BTW...didn't we already go through this a couple of months back?

Doug,

The R.A.V.E. valve is on the exhaust side of the Rotax engines, the rotary
valve is on the intake side. Many of the Rotax mills are of a reed valve
design(still in conjunction with the RAVE), now, as are all of the
Suzukis(Arctic Cats), Yamahas, and Fujis(Polaris). I personally have had
very good experience with the rotary valved Rotax... good power and great
reliability. Seeing also that about 30 years ago, Bombardier bought all
remaining shares of Rotax they did not yet own, I doubt they will install
any different power in their vehicles.

I've had 6 Ski-Doo's all of course with the Rotax engine zero problem.
As far as RAVE goes, it must not be any good. Thats why the other
builders have copied it.

Sea-Doo had a problem with one of their 900 cc class engines in their
PWC's. Since fixed.
