Yamaha's monster engine...

Well seeing that Yamaha was instrumental in the design of the engine
for the Ford Tarus SHO, I can appreciatee that.

In fact,t hat's what I was thinking your post was about, Tom

that Yammie had decided to make an outboard with that SHO sitting on
top.

Oh you love it and you know it;)

Imagine the carbon footprint you could lay down. All you would need is
a gasoline powered tow vehicle, and a yammy 350, folks here would
start dropping like flies. You could take out Harry and all the Global
Warming lemmings in one clean sweep;)

Er, you would happen to do this after I questioned Harry about
entering a thread with a snide political remark.....

Well, maybe not political, but I can feel the squeeze coming.

Something there does not compute unless we are talking twins. That
engine solo should burn about 35 gph at WOT, something like 20 to 25
at 4500 rpm. 52 gph would be entirely plausible for twins at fast
cruise.

4500 may be WOT on that big of an engine.

Triples! That would definitely do it.

Considering it is 11,000+ lbs as tested, 36 ft long, doing 50+, not
too bad actually for gas engines, just a little tough on the gas
budget. I have neighbors with I/O speed boats in that size range that
burn about the same.
