Does the throttle cable & control have complete continuity?

I have a 67 C/C Corsair,V6 with a OMC Drive. Check your throttle cable
(by having someone else move it while you watch) at the engine, then
at the control. Sounds like that is the problem.

Start with a tune up. Make sure the timing is set right. You could have a
seriously wrong prop. Is this boat new to you?

That's your problem right there. OCM drives do that. Now, if you had an
OMC....
