I finally got my fix today

After being kept off the Lake for over 2 weeks due to strong NE winds I
played hookie this afternoon so my wife and I could spend some on the boat
and in the water enjoying the warm temperature and flat Lake. Water temp
72F as measured at the 1 mile crib and 79F surface at our swimming spot.

Got a chance to wash down and wax the boat as well as clean up the outdrive.
The boat looks like she just came out of the box.

We plan a sunset cruise tomorrow night with some friends.

It does not get any better than this! ;-)

It's supposed to be really hot here tomorrow, but if the wind settles
down, It's going to be the lake for us too!

Same here, and through Sunday. We plan to take advantage of it. Our
weekend, though, is tied up with going away parties at our house for my son
on Friday (his friends, which may get a bit wild) and on Sunday (family).

Take some worms. Catch some fish. Before the lakes dry up.

Speaking of,

it's ben horribly driy around my area for the last couple weeks or so,
and the corn is starting to suffer. But there is a chance of some rain
tomorrow. The good news is that Lake Carlyles level hasn't dropped
much more than a couple inch's (that is,from what I hear). Thats one
of the glories of a dammed up river, they can control the level,
unless it gets drastic.

Tomorrow afternoon? sun 'n fun!

We're way down on the annual rainfall also. Many of the cornfields in the
area are looking pretty bad.

Last night the fuze blew on the electric pole outside the house. Sounded
just like a pound of C-4. This morning the street was full of electricity
repair trucks, and a Bobcat. The Bobcat was in the middle of my front yard,
filling a hole it had dug to get to a transformer that had shorted.

According to the foreman of the crew, the dry weather is causing all kinds
of problems with the underground lines and transformers. Had something to
do with the settling of the earth. At 4:30 this morning, I wasn't too
alert!

The explosion scared the **** out of the dog too. I *really* enjoyed
cleaning that up. Don't ever let anyone, even a dying mother, give you a
Bearded Collie.
